Who we are
The Woodworking Co-op was founded in 2023 with the mission to make woodworking accessible to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. The business was incorporated as a 501c3 non-profit in 2025 to further expand our offerings. There’s a deep sense of pride and confidence that comes from building something with your own hands — and we believe that opportunity should belong to everyone. We strive to become a community pillar teaching tangible, marketable trades and to develop more sustainable systems. This is more than a wood shop. By providing the tools, training, and space for woodworking, we will empower our neighbors to develop self-reliance, foster mental well-being, and transform raw materials into community resilience.
Our mission
Ethan Koozer grew up in a family of builders and painters in Nebraska, but has called North Jersey home since 2008. He began woodworking professionally in 2016, fabricating and installing millwork for many tri-state restaurants, high-end residential and commercial clients, and outfitting several recording and post-production studios across the US.
